In the first five chapters Sal Paradise traveled, the main character of the bock from New York to Denver. 
I will follow the journey and pick out the most interested places. 

 

New York City

These are the streets in Brooklyn. Its an old part of the city and looks really idyllic and old, but it is full of life.

A green piece in a grey city: the central park. A beautiful place for a nice walk. 

Times Square is the Heart of New York.


This famous place is in Manhattan one of five parts of the city. The others are Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Bronx. The population is about 8.3 million people.

The city is worth a visit and i can promise you one thing: you will enjoy it, you will love it. Have fun.



Bear Mountain and the Hudson Highland

The New Yorker Hudson highland is a beautiful state park of the USA on the east cost. The park has a surface of 20,51 km² large. The Park is well known as a winter sport paradise. But also in the spring, summer and autumn is it a nice place for hiking. 

The Bear Mountain is one of the most famous mountains in the state New York. The mountain is 391 meters high.



Council Bluffs is in the state of Iowa at the border to the state Nebraska. The population is about 62.000. 

The Missouri River flows through the city. Sometimes there is high tide and the city is partly under water.

On the other side of the Missouri River is the city Omaha. Together the cities are a metropolis region with over 900.000 people.



Davenport

Davenport is the third biggest city in Iowa. The population is over 100.000 people. The Missouri River flows through the city as through Council Buffs. So we follow the river weest ward. 



Cheyenne

Cheyenne is the capital city of the state Wyoming.
The city has about 65.000 inhabitants. 
Near the city are the Laramie Mountains. On sunny days you can see the Mountains from the city.



Longmont

Longmont in Colorado is about 50 km away. from Denver. The name  Longmont came from the close Longs Peak. It is a high Mountain in the Rookie Mountains. The city has a population about 80.000



Denver

Denver has a beautiful skyline at night. 

The city is the capitol city of the State Colorado. The population is over 600.000. The city was founded during the Gold Rush in 1858. In this time many people came to the Rookie Mountains, searching for gold and wealth.

Denver is near the Rookie Mountains.
